I suddenly have the urge to write what if 12 Holy Knights described in an item.
Grisia Sun: Diamond With sparkling, shiny, beautiful looks which can attract many people attention. But don't forget that Diamond can be used to cut anything when processed.
Lesus Judgment: Black Clothes Although its originally used at funeral, this kind of clothes popular in daily use. You can look cool and dashing with this, look formal, even look slimmer with this!
Elmairy Leaf: Spice (including base like salt and sugar) Very helpful to add flavor in your life, almost everyone in the world using it. Careful not too much using it or you will be overwhelmed and make the food taste bad.
Ecilan Ice: Ice Cube Even when there is people dislike cold food, there is a time when they have the urge to eat it in summer and they will smile after eat it with their favourite syrup.
Chikus Blaze: Energy Drink or Soda Can cheer you up, make you refreshed after drinking. Caution, too much drinking isn't good for your heart.
Roland Hell: Battle Robot Very straightforward to do his job. Sturdy and strong. Doesn't need to eat. Need daily update to improve battle function.
Ceo Storm: CPU Helping human do any work. Although overworking will make them error for a while, you can service them and continue to use them.
Laica Metal: Punching Bag A thing to relieve your stress anytime, very seldom can strike you back if you are lucky.
Georgo Earth: Teddy Bear Gives a cute and innocent feeling. Very popular with female race. Girl go crazy to hug and even kiss him. Just hope they don't suddenly came to live like Ted in the movie.
Aivis Stone: Play-doh Quite sturdy after used to shape something but can be kneaded and re-shaped again.
Demos Cloud: a piece of paper slipped in a book replacing bookmarks You can easily forget about him, forget where you place him, but actually very important point is hidden within this because you place him urgently at that time.
Vival Moon: Sports Car Very expensive. Kinda dominating when used in the main street. Treating another type of car as lowly made. But, mainly used for chasing woman.

You know, I thought a bit about family relations in Sun Knight.
For one: there are some of the Twelve who still have a family. This family should know their true character. Or do they pretend that their character changed through their training? Do Lesus Aunt and Uncle still know Lesus or did he turn into the Judgement Knight even towards them? Does he still visit them from time to time? What about the others? And if they are still themselves towards their families, how much of the real inner workings of the temple do they reveal? After all, if they know that one of the Twelve is pretending, it is not so far fetched to assume that others might as well.
The other thing I asked myself: Is it compulsory for Demon King candidates to be orphans? All three from this generation are. If not, then what happens to the family of a Demon King Candidate? After all, most parents would object to a lich showing up to take their child away, never mind their child having to fight a battle to the death in order to become the Demon King. If the candidates are always orphans, then what happens to their parents? Why do they die?

Its almost over! T_T Oh I shall miss Suns scheming and trickery. I admit, it was the first two books I enjoyed the most of this series, with its scheming and trickery, but the whole series is dear to my heart~

Knowing Grisia, his student would have all sort of abilities unbefitting Sun Knight *cough*scheming, ganging up on someone*cough* But maybe his student won't want to do those things?

Or in a game similar to Second Life? (I take it this is asking what profession they would have.) Grisia- Priest, sit in the back and enjoy the breeze. Alternatively mage. He shouldn't make the same mistake twice. Ceo- With his speed, I would say thief, but maybe just an agility-based warrior. Elmairy- Archer. I'm tempted to say bard since he can sing a song and turn someone into a porcupine. Actually, bard. Chikus- Definitely a warrior. Imagine him doing anything else like trying to summon skeletons. He would probably freak out more than Doll. Georgo- Barrier master. Like Yun. Demos- Thief...but he wouldn't steal anything. I haven't done races for the others but he would definitely be a wind spirit. Even less conspicuous than usual. Lesus- Warrior. Is there anything else more suitable? Ecilan- Baker. They don't all have to kill things to gain experience right? Vival- Um, this is a bit hard...He wouldn't be a warrior, but a thief doesn't seem likely either...He might be a bard too. Laica- Thief. I feel this is well suited to his style. Aivis- I'd like to say he would be a rock spirit, but I feel he'd be more like Ugly Wolf and become a priest. Roland- Warrior. No question.
Neo is the warrior, Aldrizzt the mage, and the Pope the priest. How fitting. I would say that the factions would separate to form separate teams, though this brings an interesting thought...which team would win out of the two? They both have similar team composition, so long as Grisia is a priest. But even if he was a mage...he might not get the chance to finish chanting an AOE spell before he gets killed so who knows?
Or maybe Grisia wouldn't even need to chant the spell, seeing how he's so good at magic?

Do you really think, he'd have a choice? I doubt Grisia wanted to learn some of the things he was taught... (Sorry, if I messed up the quote...) No, it hasn't even really begun yet. Those to novels are just an Introduction. I really hope, Yu Wo writes the others soon...

It just came to me, as I was reading the Sun Knight What If thread: Does it bother anybody apart from me that the ages and timelines seem to be a bit mismatched?
In the first novel it is stated that children are chosen at age ten and take over at age twenty. Also, it becomes pretty clear that Grisia himself was chosen aged ten (he is 23 in the first novel and says he has been living in the Holy Temple for 13 years). Later in the story, it is then stated that selections are for children between 8 to 12 years. So far, it's still okay, as what Grisia said in the first novel could have been a generalization. However, in the sidestories Grisia is repeatedly depicted as aged twelve at the time of the selection (in fact, in the first few sidestories, all children at the selections are claimed to be twelve). How does this work out?
Also, in the sidestory 'When Teacher wasn't yet Teacher' it is stated that the 37th generation has taken over only recently and that therfore nobody had 'cared' for Neo in quite some time. However, it is also stated that the Sun Knight Platoon has been doing nothing but paperwork for years now. Now, from what I can gather, the platoon is chosen about two years before the next generation takes over. In those two years neither Neo's teacher nor any of his collegues have bother to check up on what he is doing with his platoon. Also, assuming that the abducted child is Demos, he could have been no more that two years old, assuming that this story really takes place shortly after the 37th generation took over. How can a two-year-old child be used as a servant by bandits?
WARNING: Content from Novel 7&8 Another thing: Grisia is the 38th Sun Knight and the 21st Demon King. Now if you count back the Generations of Sun Knights, which last twenty years each, you get 780 Years since the foundation of the Church of the God of Light. Now, if we assume that the Demon King generations take at the very least forty years (considering that the candidates have to be born, grow up, become the Demon King and then reign as Demon King for at least 12 years (shortest life of Demon King so far(V8)) and also that there obviously wasn't a Demon King during the 37th generation(sidestory 'When teacher wasn't yet teacher')), then we reach already 840 years since the foundation of the Kathedral of the Shadow God (and that's already assuming that the new candidates are born the moment the old Demon King dies). Likely, the Demon King Generations are even longer, since a Demon King seems to be a rather rare occurence (could be wrong though, but since the 12 of the 37th generation why they are unlucky enough to have a Demon King in their generation (aforementioned sidestory), I guess that Demon Kings don't appear too often). However, the Church of the God of Light is stated to be the oldest faith and it is also stated that the Kathedral of the Shadow God was founded around 700 years ago (V5). How does this work out?
So, that got pretty long. I know that I'm being picky, but it bothers me, if ages and stuff doesn't fit...

I guess that the majority of participants in the selections are probably older, and they may not all be the same age. As for the side stories, perhaps the author just forgot a little? Hmm, I've really never thought about the timeline, but it could be that the previous generations of Holy Knights may have served longer than the 20 years of the current generations, so if the first couple of generations served till their death before the next generation took over, it is quite possible that the religion of the God of Light could be around 1000 years old or more. And the Cathedral of the Shadow God doesn't necessarily have to have been founded before the emergence of the Demon King. It was very likely to have been founded for the sake of lessening the damage the Demon King does to the world. And where did it say that Grisia was the 21st Demon King? (<--- This one here doesn't remember)

Oh...I really want to answer Nimnim's question about what grades they would have (in fact I want to say what they'd be like at school)
Grisia- He would be the one who doesn't study at all and doesn't try at all, but still manages to get decent grades. He would still get people to do his homework for him because he wouldn't be bothered to do it himself. Will be impressive at maths and physics concepts. Also impressive at writing essays. Ceo- Will be impressive at editing essays. The one who always gets bullied into doing others' homework. Elmairy- Definitely teacher's pet, helping carry supplies, clean up after class, overall good grades but not super amazing results. Chikus- Be close to failing every subject apart from PE, but not actually fail, and irritate every single teacher with his attitude and receive afternoon detentions every day. Georgo- Will get very average grades, and also cheat a lot in tests but look so innocent that no one suspects him. Demos- Will ace every knowledge based test by reciting the textbook content, but fail at essays. Teachers don't even notice he is in class and often forget to hand him a test paper... Lesus- Top student in every subject. Ecilan- Favourite of the home economics department. Will be ok in other subjects. Vival- Gets good grades, but they aren't that impressive. Laica- Little bit of a rebel. Also joins Chikus at after school detentions often. Also not very good at school in general. Aivis- Stubbornly refuses to do better in any subject. But also stubbornly refuses to do any worse. Roland- Model student, but will be terrible at giving inspiring speeches.

Huh....So regarding the ending...Would that mean all three canidates every time would be potential Sun Knights? Hmm...I suppose they could incorporate the transferring ritual into the Sun Knights initiation...

When Grisia becomes the Demon King, Awaitsun mentions it in the ritual (I checked it before I wrote the number, because I wasn't sure any more). And when Awaitsun recounts the history of the Demon King he mentions that the people who begged the Shadow God to help even after he was angered by being attacked were the founders of the Cathedral of the Shadow God, so the Cathedral and the Demon King should have emerges at the same time.
As for the ages of the children, it was stated that children who are younger than 8 or older than 12 are only accepted as exeptions (like the current Knight-Captain having previously decided on a person...), so all children should be in that age-group. But I agree that Yu Wo probably forgot about the age thing when writing the side stories.

Huh....So regarding the ending...Would that mean all three canidates every time would be potential Sun Knights? Hmm...I suppose they could incorporate the transferring ritual into the Sun Knights initiation... But the Demon King won't necessarily emerge just at that time. I actually don't think that it is possible to let a Demon King emerge before the Dark Element has reached a certain saturation... (otherwise it would make more sense to let a Demon King emerge as soon as somehow possible to 1) minimize the damage done by the Lands of Death and 2) minimize the effect the Dark Element will have on the Demon King (since the amount would be lower)) And well, they would possibly just turn the candidate who fits the description best into the Sun Knight and make sure all three have a good relationship (putting all three into the Twelve Holy Knights would be interesting), to avoid problems and powerstruggle...

Oh very true. I imagine it would only come up once every three to four Sun Knights. Though if appeared more regularly, say every second sun knight, I imagine the amount of dark magic would be severly reduced.
I still can't help but imagine Pink, Scarlet and (insert name here) would try squabbling over which of their kids gets to be the Demon Lord and insist that all three become Sun Knight canidates... That said, making them also members of the twelve knights would indeed be a very interesting way to go.

I wonder why the Shadow God just doesn't have a Demon King every generation or more often instead of waiting for the dark element to collect. Or even if they had multiple people, say keeping all three candidates, wouldn't the dark element be used up faster that way and result in less damage for the whole world?
