The fog really is interesting. But as scary as it is, I see it as cleaning and starting anew a corrupted world. It is just people tend to focus on their fears and become self-interested/absorbed.
And hopefully it just chooses the strong becuase they have a higher will to survive. If you know yourself to be weak, most often your mindset will limit you.

What I find interesting about this fog is more in relation to the protagonist. The central figure in our story appears to have come from a different world. With memories of countries that did not exist in the current one. This means either we have a 'constantly rebuilding society type thing going where people just forget about civilization ending, or this is a universe with multiple human worlds, or its an event shared across alternate worlds....
Im rather stumped by this situation.

Ah, here comes my theory of alternate universes. (clears throat) I believe that in every universe, there are things that are fated, that is to say, they will definitely happen. For example, death is fated as it one of the truths of life. The fog is likely a fated event in this case. However, as to how and/or when something fated happens is an entirely different matter. And that is where alternate universes come in. Each universe differs to another by the choices individuals make in each of them. Every single possible choice and combination of choices are taken in some universe, sometime, somewhere. So the fog will happen in every alternate universe of this world, and the same people will experience it and eventually die, but when and how they die will be different every time because of the choices they make.
This of course is only my own theory about alternate universes, and is not an accurate explanation on what happens in Dominion's End. I would be very happy to share more of my theory on alternate universes if anyone is interested. ^_^

I was reading Dominion's End all over again, and in the last chapter something caught my mind. Guan Weijun said that she chose the ice ability from witnessing the Ice Emperor fighting. But then, what if the world she is living in right now is simply an alternate version of her world with the same people? Could it be that the Ice Emperor she saw in another world was actually just Jiang Shu Yu with his ice ability? Wouldn't that be interesting? Though it would mean that the guy that betrayed her would be there too. +_+'

I actually thought the same thing, when Guan Weijun hoped that she would be worthy enough to become the Ice Emperor in this life. That the Ice Emperor is Jiang Shuyun. And I think that it is very likely that they'll run into the guy she was in live with. Quite possibly, he'll even have this worlds Guan Weijun in tow... It just seems like a to interesting plot element to pass up.

But then, the question is... What happened to the real Shu Yu? Did he die? Or is Guan Weijun both Guan Weijun and Jiang Shu Yu at the same time? Wouldn't that be weird if she were? How can she be two people at the same time? Unless this time, Weijun is in Shu Yu's body while the real Shu Yu is in Weijun's body? XD I bet other people already talked about this possibility...

Body swap across alternate universes? That is a very interesting thing. Although with Guan Weijun's eyesight, if she was able to make out the details of that battle, surely she would have recognised herself as the Ice Emperor?

Not if the Ice Emperor wasn't showing his face.

That is true. Sigh. This kind of cause and effect loop is just as confusing as the chicken or the egg debate.

There is a little something in v4 that I found intriguing about Guan Weijuns boyfriend so here are my thoughts and theories about it (and hypothesis on where the plot might go) In v4 Shuyu finally meets Guan Weijun of this world and finds out that not only she is very different from how he used to be but there is also no boyfriend by her side at all! And that is quite strange if you ask me. How could he disappeare from her life before the apocalypse? Doesn't that mean that first changes to the world came before Shuyu's coma?
My guess is that Mr boyfriend (don't remember his name) has also reincarnated, but unlike Shuyu that appeared in this world just 2 days prior he came here much earlier (like years earlier). From how he is described in the novel we see that he had lost all tender feeling (if he ever had any) towards Weijun, so it's only natural that after receiving another chance in life he would choose not to meet her in the first place since in his eyes she is useless. And if it is indeed so, then where is he now? What's he doing?
We all know that he is very obsessed with power and elites. It's very possible that after starting anew he decided to get close to future elites. Among 3 elites Shutian is a mercenary that leads a closed up elite group of mercs (which makes him unapproachable for ordinary people), Jin Zang (did I spell it right?) is part of mafia (which means it's simply dangerous do poke your nose in his business) and Debert is a soldier. From this we can see that out of all 3 elites Debert is the most approachable so my guess is that at this point of the story he might be by Deberts side somewhere.
But is he such a nice person to simply stand by an elites side? No, he's not. He will definitely do anything to grab the title of the "elite" for himself => Debert in our story might not appear at all or at least not as one of the elites since by then he would be already replaced by Mr boyfriend!!! More so, he most likely won't be a nice ruler => he night become our heroes greatest enemy.
Wouldn't that explained why Yu Wo spends so mich time writing flashbacks about Weijun and Mr boyfriend?
