{An Unexpected Guest}
Boom!I was just about to start preparations for dinner, when I suddenly heard a loud crashing sound. I immediately rush out to the living room where the the sound had come from. There, I found a tall and beautiful young man with fair skin, a head of brilliant blond hair, and eyes as blue as the azure sky, gracefully lying on the floor and giving me a radiant smile. Surprised, I quickly looked around and did not see any part of the living room broken.
How did this person get in here?I put up my guard. “May I ask who you are?”
That person gracefully stood up and patted himself off. After, quickly and gracefully tidying up his appearance, he looked up and smiled a bright smile at me again.
This person must really like smiling.Still smiling warmly, he gently spoke, “Greetings, I am the Church of the God of Light’s Sun Knight. The benevolent God of Light is loving and caring. Her unconditional love and kindness extends to more than just her loving children, and so it was the benevolent God of Light’s will, that today this Sun, graced with the God of Light’s benevolence, was to be guided to this new and wonderful place while enjoying and partaking in the wonders of the world. This Sun would love to further converse of the benevolent God of Light’s radiance with everyone at this extraordinary place and also expand this Sun's knowledge to bring home to share with all of the benevolent God of Light’s children.
...What?I did not understand a single thing that person had said. The God of Light? A church? Are they here to hunt me down? The church wouldn’t randomly come here to hunt me right? I have not caused any trouble and they wouldn’t be so careless as to come barging into Sunset City as this is the non-human’s stronghold. He also seems very friendly and kind.. Who is this guy? Bramble and the others also didn’t come and they should have noticed if someone tried to break in... Just, where did he come from?
I could only stare dumbfounded at the person who was still smiling gently at me.
He probably realized I could not understand him as he gracefully furrowed his brows and appeared to be contemplating something. He also gracefully scanned his eyes through the living room and revealed a very confused expression while still maintaining a graceful air about him.
At that moment, I was still unsure of who this stranger was, but I felt that he was not an enemy so I introduced myself. “Hello, my name is Charles Endelis and I am the butler of this apartment.
“Apartment? What is that?” The very good-looking stranger spoke again and had said something I could actually understand. After asking, however, he looked a bit distressed.
This guy doesn’t know what an apartment is? Just as I was about to explain, he spoke again, “You don’t seem to know about the Church of the God of light and this place looks completely unfamiliar! So, I’ll just talk comfortably. I’m not sure where I am, but while I was playing around with some elements I somehow ended up here.”
Finally kind of getting the situation, I asked, “Do you know how to return to your home?”
That extremely handsome man frowned and said, “I am also not too sure about that, however, I’m extremely hungry right now, would you please make me something to eat? Preferably with lots of cilantro!” His smile returned for a bit towards the end of his question then he gave me a puppy-dog face that I really couldn’t find the heart to refuse.
Hmm… Young Master An Xiang Ye will also be home in a bit…After thinking a bit about what both this unexpected guest and the young master would enjoy eating, barbecue chicken pizza came to mind.
Alright! Let’s make some deep fried barbecue chicken pizza poppers! * * *
Hello! Welcome to Endelis Kitchen Corner! My name is Charles Endelis and I will be your host this fine evening. Today, we will be making barbecue chicken pizza poppers!
First, I must gather the ingredients I will need.
Now, that I have gathered all my ingredients, I will slice my chicken breasts into thin slices and then marinate them! (haha.. sorry guys! I was going to marinated my chicken after taking the first photo but then I had to go somewhere, in the end, I totally forgot to take pictures ^ ^
Next, I will finely chop up the red onion and cilantro, as well as cutting the cheese into good sized chunks.
Alright, that ends all the preparation. Simple right?
I will now preheat my oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
Now, while the oven is preheating I just need to put all the ingredients together!
First, the dough! I already pre-made my dough so I just need to spread them out. I then add the barbecue sauce. Next, I will put a slice or two of the chicken breasts. After, I top it with the cheese. That unexpected guest of mine seems to really like cilantro, I can’t forget that! Lastly, I top it all off with the red onion.
Now, I will line my cookie tray with foil (optional) and coat it in a bit of olive oil.
Okay, now I will just wrap up them up and place them on my pan!
I lightly brush over the tops with some olive oil for color. Then I prepare a simple topping of cilantro, garlic salt, and black pepper to sprinkle over the top for some extra flavor! (I forgot to take a picture of it after sprinkling them.. again, my bad ^ ^
Lastly, I just pop them into the oven that should be done preheating for about 20-25 minutes!
Ah I thought I was supposed to deep-fry these, some unknown force has forced me to bake them instead, I hope the young master will still like them! And that concludes today’s episode of Endelis Kitchen Corner, Enjoy!
(*A friend pointed out to me that she compared these to the stove and thought they were gigantic but they actually fit inside the innermost ring of the stove, still not popper sized but they aren't meatbun sized either lol)
Now, I must quickly make more before the young master returns~
Notes:
Hello everyone! My name is dinoj:D After lots of contemplating over what I could possibly do for this contest, I remembered a while back that I had mentioned how Ah Ye and Sun would both likely enjoy barbecue chicken pizza! However, that’s not original at all! So I decided to make up my own recipe for some barbecue chicken pizza poppers! Originally, I wanted to deep-fry these but after eating too much junk food over the entire 4th of July weekend, I really didn’t feel up to eating anything deep-fried, so I ended up baking them instead.
The recipe is listed below! (:
Dinoj’s Barbecue Chicken Pizza Poppers
Ingredients:
-Boneless Chicken breast
-Barbecue Sauce of your choice
(I like my stuff sweet so I grabbed the honey barbecue one ><)
-Dough of your choice
(I used packaged crescents dough, but hand-making fresh dough would be amazing.)
-Cilantro!
-Red Onion
-Mozzarella Cheese
-Olive Oil
-Garlic Salt
-Pepper
Directions:
-Prepare all your ingredients.
-Slice your chicken breasts into sizable thin slices.
(Make sure slices aren’t too thick so they will be cooked thoroughly)
-Marinate the chicken breasts.
(I pre-marinated mine with some salt, ginger, pepper, sesame oil, and soy sauce overnight. But, I think it’s fine to just marinate it with some salt and pepper, and let it sit for about an hour, you can also add some barbecue sauce for more flavor
)
-Finely chop the red onion.
-Finely chop up the cilantro.
-Slice the cheese into sizable chunks.
(Make sure you will be able to wrap everything up inside your dough!)
-Preheat oven to 425°F
-Take the dough and spread it out.
(About that, I was a bit lazy but it was a lot harder to wrap leaving them as triangles so I suggest you make them in the saucers for easier wrapping! Also, a lot of my cheese spilled out because of my bad wrapping XD *For those planning to deep-fry these, I suggest you cut the triangles in half because mine came out a bit bigger than I had originally planned so they look more like tanned meatbuns rather than poppers.)
-Slather that dough with as much barbecue sauce as your heart desires.
-Now, place about two slices(depending on how thick or big your slices are) of chicken onto the centers of the pieces of dough, add cilantro, and red onions.
-Top it off with a piece of Mozzarella, and wrap it all up!
(Make sure everything is enclosed nicely inside the dough!)
-Now, lightly coat the bottom of the pan of your choice with some olive oil.
(I used a cookie tray, but you could also just stuff them all together into a ceramic pan, sadly I couldn’t find mine anywhere D: *If you do stuff them together, again, I would suggest you cut the triangles I used in half.)
-Place your little poppers onto your pan, now you want to just brush the tops lightly with a little bit more olive oil for color.
-Lightly, sprinkle your chopped up cilantro and a bit of garlic salt and pepper over the top.
-Put them into the oven for 20-25 minutes or until they are a beautiful golden brown color, and enjoy!
(P.S. they’re really hot right out of the oven so might be best you wait for them to cool down a bit.)
