Finally finished...I hope its not as cheesy as I feel like it is >//< I've never really played any dating sims, so all my knowledge comes from anime cliches I hope the order makes sense? The numbers correspond to which situation, and the letters correspond to your previously chosen answer. If it doesn't make sense, I can clarify! Characters: Sun, Judgement, Storm
Setting: Present Day, High school
Characters: Sun, Student council president Judgement, Student council vice president Storm, Student council secretary
1: You’re a transfer student at the School of the God of Light and today is your first day but you are lost. Where do you go? a. Straight to the Library (Sun) b. Right towards the classrooms (Storm) c. Left to the teacher Offices (Judgement)
1a: SUN SCENE As you walk into the library, you peak through the shelves of books and see a beautiful man with porcelain white skin and glittering golden hair magnificently eating some blueberry cookies on the frame of an open window. a. They seemed to be talking about something important so you stand in a corner waiting for them to stop. After a quick minute, they stop talking and the teacher asks you what you need. You respond saying you’re a transfer student and that you don’t know where you class is. The teacher looks up your class, then tells the student in black to lead you to it. You awkwardly open and close your mouth, wanting to make conversation but unable to (-1 Judgement)

1a-2b: SUN SCENE You continue leaning into the bookshelf, until you accidentally put too much weight into it and the bookshelf starts tilting towards the beautiful man. “Watch out!” You scream as the bookshelf started falling. Suddenly, a gush of cold air overcame you as the bookshelf was frozen in place by ice. “What was that for?” The man asked you irritably. “For that, you owe me a hundred favors!" a. Your face pales. 100 favors? That was a lot. You decide to bargain with him, saying you will buy him 100 blueberry cakes instead. (+1 Sun) b. You argue with him, deciding to point out the sign that said “No Eating in the Library - Judgement.” In other words, you try to blackmail him. (-1 Sun)
1a-2c: SUN SCENE You walk up to the golden haired man and point out the sign. He turns to look at you, then smiles. “That rule was made to prevent the books from becoming tarnished. His first response was a little fishy, but you decide to listen to him. You tell him you are the new transfer student, and that you had gotten lost. (-1 Sun) b. His response was fishy and you call him out on it. (+1 Sun)
1b-2a: STORM SCENE As you take the his hand, one of his feet, which was standing on the fallen pages, slips and he falls forward on top of you. Right before his face hit yours, he stops himself with a hand on the ground next to your head. As your eyes met his, he started blinking nonstop. a. Startled, you quickly push him off and start apologizing while picking up the fallen paper. (+1 Storm) b. You faint. (-1 Storm)
1b-2b: STORM SCENE You yank him down. However, you accidentally use too much force and he falls face forward into the floor, knocking him out cold. a. You immediately regret pulling him down and take him to the nurse’s office (+1 Storm) b. You panic, reassuring yourself that it wasn’t your fault. Luckily for you, the classroom he was leaving had no other people in it. You attempt to hide his body in a closet in the classroom. (-1 Storm)
1b-2c: STORM SCENE After you smacked away his hand, the person seems a little taken aback, but then apologizes saying, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to offend you. Could I do something to make up to you?” You look up at the person to see a head of striking blue hair. You also notice a sun crest badge on his chest, indicating he was a student council member. a. You apologize to him for being rude earlier, and ask him for help finding your classroom. (+1 Storm) b. Still pissed, you say “It’s fine,” and get up yourself. (-1 Storm)
1c-2a: JUDGEMENT SCENE After silently trailing behind the black clothed student for a while, you eventually reach a classroom. He turns to you and says, “This is your classroom. If you have another questions, ask your teacher.” He turns to leave. a. You grab the back of his black clothes and ask him for his name to thank him. (+1 Judgement) b. You nod silently and enter the classroom without speaking to the student in black. (-1 Judgement)
(Let’s now pretend that I managed to write all the way up to the last scene)
SUN ROUTE FINALE (Assuming you got the most points with Sun) *You have recklessly tried to uphold your sense of justice against a bunch of thugs and even though you beat them up, you got hurt in the process* Sun looked at you up to down, horrified at the number of cuts and bruises you had. “Why would you do this to yourself! You could have asked me for help!” He quickly healed you, and your cuts stopped aching. After this, he embraced you and said, “I don’t know what I would do without you, next time something happens, don’t take it on yourself and ask me for help! I’ll beat everyone up for you! Go out with me!” Happy End.
STORM ROUTE FINALE (Assuming you got the most points with Storm) *Faced with a deadline and with work pushed onto you by Student President Sun, you can Storm have successfully completed the work together and turned it all in* Storm gave you a hug. “I couldn’t have finished all this work without you!” After a moment, Storm realizes he’s still holding you and quickly lets go embarrassed. He blushes and laughs, saying, “Haha, I’m sorry, I don’t know what’s come over me.” After a small moment of awkwardness, you make a small decision in your heart and you lean in on the tips of your toes and kiss him on the cheek. You turn away, also in embarrassment. Before you can leave, Storm grabs you and says, “Will you go out with me?” Happy End.
JUDGEMENT ROUTE FINALE (Assuming you got the most points with Judgement) *You had been extorted for your kindness and thrown away. With no one else to go to, you find comfort with the presence of Judgement, whom you had slowly befriended* You had calmed down and was now sitting next to Judgement, silently leaning onto his shoulder. The aura he gave off was very calming, and you loved simply being with him. It didn’t matter if other people abandoned you, if you could be with Judgement forever. Judgement put his arm around you and pulled you closer to his side. You looked up at him questionably. You had always thought Judgement only thought of you as a friend. Judgement turned his head to look back at you. “I love you, will you please go out with me?” Happy End. I had actually planned to do a lot more, but tests did not permit me D:

Had to cut the content in half to avoid overworking myself like Ceo in finishing this, so I might expand on this at a later time after the contest is over. Please don't be alarmed by the number of scenarios. Depending on the course of actions you take, each story should only be about 4-7 scenarios long. Please note: The character you are playing will be the same in each scenario, but the memories and personality he has will be different with each one. Some of the fun will be in learning about what your character is capable of remembering in the world of Illusions, Lies, Truth from his own story. As such, this fic requires familiarity with Illusions, Lies, Truth, at least up through the first volume and the “Book Writer” side story. There will be spoilers if one has not read all volumes of ½ Prince and potentially the first two volumes of Legend of the Sun Knight. Also please note that since the detailed mechanics of barrier dimension creation/dissipation and creating illusions/truths has not been fully explained in depth thus far in Illusions, Lies, Truth, I am taking some liberties in interpreting how they can function, given what we know thus far in “Book Writer” and up to Vol 2, Chapter 4 of the main series. Each storyline is made completely independent of the others, so some of the same storylines will need to be interpreted differently based on the later path options you decide to take. Just start by opening the spoiler for Scenario 1, and follow the instructions at the end of each Scenario to proceed to the next one. Scenario 1: Listen… Do you hear my summons? Guiliastes. Can you hear me? “Yes, I heard you… Mother.” ------------------------------------------------------------------ “Where am I?” You ask as you sit up in bed in a small room. “Finally awake? About time; I was getting bored waiting for you.” You look in the direction of the voice and see a barefoot woman wearing a loose singlet, shorts, and slippers, as well as black-rimmed glasses, walking into the entrance of the bedroom. This is… my mother? You think, remembering that you have just been “called” into this dimension. “Who are you?” you ask, unsure about how to react to her ridiculously casual attire. “I am Yu Shu,” she responds, clearly expecting to hear your response first before providing more information. Seeing her dressed in such oddly informal attire for the first time meeting her, you can’t help but want to tease her a bit. After briefly thinking about what would be the most ludicrous way to annoy her, you quickly smile fanatically and pounce out of bed, saying “You’re so beautiful!”, lovestruck and unashamed; as you attempt to run up and hug her. Startled to see your exuberant response, she immediately attempts to kick you in the face, shouting, “What the hell? You just woke up, and that’s the first thing you say to me? What’s wrong with you?” How do you respond? A.) Dodge the kick, then after she speaks, hug her from behind and dance with her. B.) Dodge the kick and kiss her playfully before running away. A.) After dodging her kick and hearing her exclamations, you start grinning, feeling an urge to continue acting mischievously. You then proceed to swiftly move behind her and wrap your arms around her arms, binding them. She struggles to break free, but seeing her do that, you lock your arms more firmly, then place your head against hers, cheeks touching, and start swaying your hips side-by-side with her, humming some romantic music to calm her down. Proceed to Scenario 2. B.) After dodging her kick and hearing her exclamation, you start grinning, feeling an urge to continue acting mischievously. Without any signs of your intention, you immediately kiss her on the lips. She looks at you in shock, but right before she can retaliate, you release her and start running out the door away from her, laughing playfully. Proceed to Scenario 6. Scenario 2: “Stop!” she exclaims, trying to break out of your grip. However, you continue unfazed, humming the song and dancing while at the same time, skillfully dodging her attempts to stamp your feet. “Release me” she continues to demand, though you ignore her, having too much fun at the moment to want to stop. After wearing herself out trying to resist you, she eventually stops struggling, perhaps in an attempt to take away the pleasure you receive from it, but this new action only makes you more curious to see her next reaction. A minute later, seeing you dance in place with no signs of stopping, and getting accustomed to your song and movement, she even begins to dance in place along with you; albeit still bearing a sour expression on her face. After a few minutes of dancing, you finally stop humming and moving, still hugging her. Evidently, your playful attempt to woo her seems to be having a subtle effect. She continues to look very angry, though the look is complicated and conflicted, as if she is struggling to decide how to feel at the moment. You decide to take your chance anyways. What do you do? A.) Make another comment about her beauty. B.) Kiss her. A.) Confident about your own good looks, you speak softly into her ear, “Fair beauty, you are truly the most exquisite person I ever met. All of the elements of perfection are joined in you. No, you are perfection! Even when angry, the word ‘perfection’ can only be used on you alone.” Proceed to Scenario 3. B.) Without any signs of your intention, you immediately kiss her on the lips. She looks at you in shock, but right before she can retaliate, you release her and start running out the door away from her, laughing playfully. Proceed to Scenario 6. Scenario 3: For a brief moment, you see her melt in your embrace, touched by your words. She stares at your face affectionately, feigning a look of temptation. However, she quickly snaps out of the mood and elbows you hard in the stomach. You release her and back up, clenching your stomach in pain. She then proceeds to beat you up, punching your face with no remorse; almost causing you to die and go back to the rebirth point-- although to be honest, you’re not sure if there even is a rebirth point in this dimension. Strange, her reactions feel so familiar… you think to yourself, trying to recall when you've ever had the misfortune of being beaten up by someone. “You jerk! How despicable… How shameless! What the hell am I supposed to do with you?” she says, red-faced. “I don’t remember writing you to be this perverted!" Interesting! You smile, seeing another opportunity to toy with her emotions. How do you respond? A.) Say it is a product of her own internal desires affecting your personality. B.) Say that it is a result of her own flawless beauty and continue to woo her. A.) After drinking a health potion-- which apparently seems to work in this dimension-- to recover from your injuries, you walk up to her saying, “Well I am after all, just a product of your own imagination. Perhaps it’s your own desire for affection that’s being projected onto me in this world.” You boldly touch her chin and stare directly at her eyes as you say this, a few centimeters from her face. Proceed to Scenario 4. B.) “Is that a problem? Your beauty has simply touched me to the point that I can’t help but have feelings for you,” you say, smiling as you drink a health potion, which apparently seems to work in this dimension. After checking that the injuries on your face have healed, you bring out your guqin. “Beautiful Highness, let me prove to you that my love is genuine through a song.” Proceed to Scenario 5. Scenario 4: She immediately knocks your hand off and tries to avert your gaze, blushing bright red and conflicted. “You... you’ve got some nerve! You only just became an illusion, and already you’ve become this self-aware? Smart guys are so troublesome to deal with!” (What is going on? How can he have any concept of love and feelings when he’s only an illusion? she ponders in her mind.) You can only help but smile in amusement knowing that she did not refute what you said, as she continues to try to look away from you. Knowing that her facial expressions are betraying her desire to hide them, she starts walking swiftly towards the door to get away. However, you grab her hand, forcing her to stay. As you look at her, flashes of a handsome white-haired elf bearing the same expression appear projected over her face in your mind. You hesitate. That expression… “Prince?” you ask, not sure how that name came into mind, but feeling a strong familiarity with it, as if you've said it hundreds of times in the past. Her eyes widen in alarm. “How do you know that name?” Yu Shu asks you. (Something is wrong. He shouldn't have any memories of the people in his story, she says in her mind.) How do you respond? A.) Hug her; you’ve found your Prince. B.) Bargain to have her summon Prince as well. A.) “So it is you,” you say, hugging her.
She flinches at your response, not expecting that reaction. “No… you’re mistaken. I am not Prince,” she says, pushing your chest away from her.
“Then you must be the source for Xiao Lan; isn’t that right? Your face and personality matches exactly with my wife’s. Is she your cellular clone, or perhaps your interdimensional equivalent?”
Yu Shu’s face grows pale in response. (This is bad! He’s not supposed to have any knowledge of the plot points in his story. How is it that he could possibly have knowledge of the ending?) “...Yes, you could say she is my equivalent in your dimension.”
“Alright, then it’s decided. Whatever it is that you want from me, I will unconditionally do it for you as long as you serve her place in this dimension. No doubt it must have taken a long time for you to bring me here, as your clothing material suggests you’re from the past, maybe 21st century? Even if I had the patience to wait for you to summon her into this dimension, your resemblance to each other is too suspicious and will only create problems in the long run.” You hug her again, smiling.
(You despicable, shameless idiot… Even if we look and act the same, Xiao Lan is Xiao Lan and I am myself. What kind of person would be happy to take the place of another person’s wife? She quickly smothers the raging fire burning inside her, frustratingly grating her teeth...) “Fine, but we will not be staying in this dimension. You will come with me to my own dimension, become my illusion, and answer to my summons. You wouldn’t want to stay in this world anyways. There is nothing here after all.” She opens the window behind you, pointing to the empty and desolate street outside.
(Whatever, as long as he comes with me, it should be fine. The neighbors already think my butler is my boyfriend after all, and Gui is only an illusion, so it’s not like we’d be able to do anything like commit incest... She internally shakes her head. What am I thinking? There’s no way that will ever happen!)“
“For you, anything.” You lift her face and kiss her gently. Seeing her transition from a look of shock to one of reluctantly increasing desire, you then stick your tongue into her mouth. Yu Shu’s arm grows limp as she looks at you passionately.
After a minute, you release your lips from hers, staring at her happily. She stares back, conflicted and a bit ashamed, but otherwise content by the kiss. Hands together, the two of you walk out the door, dispelling the barrier dimension. You’re not sure what to expect in Yu Shu’s unfamiliar world, but with her hand in yours, you “feel” you can face anything.
The End B.) Realizing that if she is able to summon you, she should definitely be able to summon Prince as well, you say to her, “Fine, let’s drop the act for now. There has to be a reason you brought me here and come to visit. What do you want?”
She stares at you astonished, the redness in her cheeks starting to dissipate and becoming clearer. (It can’t just be his intelligence, can it? How can Gui be this self-aware of the current situation?) You see her eyes waver as she thinks about how to respond. After several seconds, she carefully replies, “You… you are my son. Isn’t it natural for a mother to want to see her children?”
“So you have the ability to summon more people from my dimension? But I haven’t heard a single sound outside of these walls, and the streets outside are empty.” You point out the window next to you, which should have shown a street sprawling with adventurers looking to reach their next destination, but is instead empty and devoid of any activity, like a backdrop in a play.
“It… it’s not easy. It took a long time just to bring you here.”
You look at her with pity in your eyes. “Yes, no doubt the technology for interdimensional travel from wherever you came from must be primitive at best. Your clothing looks like they’re from the 21st century after all.”
She looks at you embarrassed, crossing her arms over her chest; assuming your response to be condescending. “Then come with me as my illusion and answer to my summons. For you it will prove to be a much more interesting world. There’s not much you can do here after all.”
“Be that as it may, I am too much in love with Prince to simply abandon this world... I shall come with you, but only on the condition that you will do everything in your power to bring my wife into this dimension.”
(Why does this sound just like the golden-haired one’s condition? Yu Shu pouts to herself.) “I will try my best, but know that it will take quite a while. It might be a year before you will be able to see her again.”
“I will wait as long as it takes, but you must promise that you will summon her as soon as you can.”
“...Alright, I promise.”
You follow her out of the barrier dimension of your “futuristic” world and into the small apartment of her “real” world-- where artifact demons, vampires, and legendary knights dwell--, waiting for the day your wife can return to you.
The End Scenario 5: “No, stop!” she quickly closes her eyes and covers her ears. “With your good looks and musical ability, there’s no way I’ll be able to resist you after hearing your song!” You start playing anyways, smiling at her purity. That expression… It’s simply too cute! She tries to walk away, opening her eyes to see and head out the door. However, you swiftly and elegantly move in front of her, blocking the exit with no hiccups in your playing, and now transition into singing alongside your guqin music. She blushes and frantically closes her eyes again as she quickly backs up to create some distance from you. As she does so, however, the back of her leg unexpectedly hits against the edge of the bed, and her knee buckles, forcing her to fall onto the bed. She sits up, bearing with the pain in favor of blocking your song from reaching her ears. After a while, however, unable to maintain her trembling and aching muscles, she removes her fingers from her ears. It is at this point that you start singing the climax of the ballad. You see her face getting redder and redder as you sing the final verse of the song. When you finally finish the song, she opens her eyes and looks up, flushed with embarrassment. This was supposed to just be a practical joke, but you can’t help but feel some passion towards her, seeing her so vulnerable. Is this love? you wonder, seeing her resemble so much like the Xiao Lan of your world. What do you do? A.) Propose to her B.) Kiss her A.) Putting your guqin back on the side table, you kneel down and kiss her hand. “My beauty, my love. From the moment I laid eyes upon you, I knew I had to have you. Your eyes are like incandescent stars, your lips would put even the loveliest rose to shame, and your skin is like the fairest snow. All of the elements of perfection are joined in you… No, you are perfection! I wonder…” You take out a heart-shaped pink box, opening it to reveal an exquisite silver ring on which stood a tulip whose petals are made of diamonds. “Beautiful Highness, are you willing to call me husband, and to let me call you my dear wife?”
Yu Shu stares at you in hesitation, a look of conflict as her eyes shift back and forth from your face to the door. The few seconds passing by feel like hours as she struggles to make a decision. Finally, they settle on your face, and with her decision resolved… she slaps you hard on the cheek and walks towards the door!
Just before she exits the room, she looks back. “Me marry you?” she says bitterly. “You are my son; I am not desperate enough to want to commit incest! She looks at you in disgust.
“To marry you, I would also need to make you become true. A purple-eyed demon is not something that can ever exist permanently in the real world, no matter how handsome and wonderful you are. What was I thinking, summoning you in the first place? I had no idea that you would turn out to be so clingy!” She pauses for a few seconds, glaring at you. Then with a sense of finality, says, “Good day, Gui, your service will no longer be requested.”
She walks out and slams the door behind her, exiting the barrier dimension. You frantically try to run out to catch up with her, but your hand is unable to touch the door or the door knob; as if withheld by some invisible force. Soon the room begins to disintegrate. Starting with the door and the corners of the room, the walls start dispersing into black words, followed by the dresser, the side table, the lamp. Even the bed begins to disintegrate, disappearing into a cloud of darkness. You realize that you are unable to do anything now that your “mother” has left forever. As your body too, begins to disintegrate, you stare at your hand, still clutching the ring. “Well, it was a good joke. Wait for me, Prince; I’ll be returning to you soon,” you say, as you fade away from existence.
The End B.) Putting you guqin next to her on the bed, you stare at her face, slowly moving closer to her. Feeling very embarrassed, she shyly turns her head away, but not actually backing away or pushing you away, as you thought she might. You lightly nudge her chin close to yours so that she can’t help but stare into your eyes, pausing momentarily with your lips only a few centimeters from hers, searching for any sign of rejection. She merely stares back, now too impassioned to have second thoughts. Still not quite sure if this “feeling” is really genuine, but too involved now to back out, you kiss her embracingly.
After a few seconds, you both disengage and gasp for breath. You can’t help but smile as she takes a deep breath to prepare for another round. “I love you, beautiful Highness,” you say, leaning in for another kiss. “Call me Yu Shu… and I love you too, Guiliastes,” Yu Shu responds, locking lips with you again. Immediately, you feel a surge of vigor and emotion well forth in your body as you “level up” into a lie. Soon the romance becomes more intense, as you move the guqin to the floor and start making full use of the bed.
A half hour later, the two of you get up, redressing yourselves. “You actually said my name,” you say, smiling as Yu Shu starts walking towards the door fully dressed.
“Don’t get used to it, and stay here for the time being. I don’t mind having you become a lie, but we absolutely can’t have purple-eyed demons running around in the real world, especially with my editor stalking around.”
“So when I can I see you next?” you say, feeling a little saddened that you can’t transition any further.
“Give me a week or two. Ye Luo really is going to murder me if I don’t finish my manuscript soon. Please wait for me.”
“For you, anything.” You kiss her briefly on the lips, then open the door for her as she leaves the barrier dimension.
The End Scenario 6: Going down the stairs from your room in the palace of Infinite City, you briefly look behind you. Yu Shu is now dressed in in the attire of a high-level thief, trying to chase you down. What, a thief? you think, pulling out your guqin and firing a Supersonic Soul-Chasing Arrow at her. She manages to dodge the arrow while going down the stairs, but her sudden brief pause to avoid it was all you needed to put her in your trap, as you immediately strum the Sheng-ge Entrancement Technique to slow her down while she’s in range. You now run with all your might towards the entrance of the palace. With her agility decreased, she is no longer able to catch up to you. Right when you’re about to exit the palace doors, however, she yells out, “Get back here, Guillastes!” Hearing her call out your name, you suddenly feel a boost of vitality within your body as you “level up” into a lie, but the boost is so sudden that it briefly shocked you mid-run, causing you to trip and slam headfirst into the door. She gasps as she realizes that she just did the one thing she was not supposed to do. As you roll onto your back, touching your head and checking for injuries, Yu Shu catches up to you. “I’ve got to say, out of all my sons, you are by far the most troublesome. Even the golden-haired one had to accept my terms first before he could become an illusion. Yet you actually managed to force me into turning you into a lie,” she says, walking towards you. How do you respond? A.) Ask what she wants. B.) Ask about her other sons. A.) “So why have you called me here? This obviously isn’t my world. Nothing exists past these palace walls,” you say, standing up and opening the palace door to reveal a pure white void outside, with no semblance of a sky or ground anywhere outside of the palace. Proceed to Scenario 7. B.) “What do you mean by ‘other sons?’ I have no brothers.”
“Do you want to meet them?” She averts your gaze and looks behind her down the entranceway, shouting, “Hold Keeper! House Keeper! Come over here!” Proceed to Scenario 8. Scenario 7: “That’s because this world only exists to recruit you; it is unnecessary to create anything more for that purpose. Swear an oath to me and become my illusion, to answer to my summons; and in turn, I will show you a world much more rich and full of people.” You laugh. “So you want me to give up my freedom and become your lifelong servant in exchange for living a more animated existence?” “Is it freedom to live in an empty world with only a single building keeping you company? You’re my son, not my servant. I won’t force you to do anything you don’t want to, and I know you don’t actually want to stay in this world by yourself. Come with me; there is nothing for you here.” A.) Accept B.) Don’t accept A.) You sigh. “It’s better to light candles than to curse the darkness. [與其詛咒黑暗,不如點亮蠟燭]” Faced with the choice of either living or eternal boredom, of course you'll choose to live.
Not wanting to play by her terms, however, you respond, “Fine, I accept, but I have one condition.”
“What is it?”
You kiss her on the lips and playfully grope her, now actually “feeling” the joy and excitement of your actions as well as the pain and annoyance of the consequences, as she slaps and beats you up in response. Drinking a health potion to recover from near-death, you can’t help but exclaim, “Oh this will be so much fun!” as you follow her out of the “false” world of Second Life and into the “real” world of Yu Shu’s apartment.
The End B.) You look at the white void behind you for a few seconds, then sigh, looking back at her with pity. “When it comes to choosing between a short, but happy life, and a long, but completely subservient life, which would you choose?”
After taking a moment to ponder what your intent is by using those words and then realizing what you're about to do, she quickly shouts, “Wait! You’re making a mista--” Before she could finish her statement, however, you cast Supersonic Soul-Chasing Arrow several times. “No!” Yu Shu attempts to stop you, but is too slow, as the arrows pierce your body, bringing your Health to 0. You begin to fade away, and Yu Shu’s hand only barely touches your face before you turn into a ball of light going through the void.
Her body shaking, Yu Shu collapses on the floor of the entrance, weeping in shock, cursing her choice of words that led up to this point. She continues weeping in silence for several minutes when House Keeper enters by her side, proceeding cautiously. “Mistress, your editor is in the apartment, demanding the manuscript you promised her a month ago.”
“Find an excuse to make her disappear. I want to be alone right now,” she sobs in grief.
House Keeper watches her compassionately, understanding what happened based on her sentiments and position in front of the white void. He then brings out a light blanket and tissue box from another room, wrapping the former around her shoulders and placing the latter by her side, before leaving to inform Ye Luo of his master’s response.
He takes one last glance back at the void. “Farewell... Brother,” he says, exiting the barrier dimension.
The End Scenario 8: From what should have been a solid wall, a large swirl appears, distorting it. From this portal, two very handsome-looking men emerge; one with dark hair and green eyes, and the other with golden hair and blue eyes. You stare suspiciously at them both, wondering if Yu Shu simply has a hobby for collecting unusually handsome people. If these two are the sons she is talking about, then surely they must be adopted! The two couldn’t be any more different from her and from each other! Upon seeing you, the golden-haired one glares at Yu Shu, saying, “You created another one? Why is it another creature of darkness? Didn’t you promise me you’d continue to attempt to create my companions and complete my world, no matter how many failures and attempts it would take?” “He is one of your companions. Don’t you remember your Death Lord brother who ironically serves as your Hell Knight?” she quickly responds, though you can’t help but note her eyes are shifting suspiciously. You stare at her, not understanding what she’s talking about. “A Death Lord?” the golden-haired one responds, pondering for a few seconds, trying to recall if something so preposterous could really be one of his companions. Then again, if a vampire could be his brother, surely it’s not too unreasonable to assume an even higher-class undead is his companion? You see Yu Wo staring at you, nudging her head towards the golden-haired man; her expression indicating that she is pleading you to do something. How do you respond? A.) Keep silent and see how the situation plays out. B.) Play along and introduce yourself to the two brothers. A.) You ignore her, keeping an eye on the golden-haired man. Proceed to Scenario 9. B.) Not sure what she’s trying to pull, you decide to play along anyways. Walking up to the golden-haired man, you extend your hand, saying, “Hello Brother, it’s good to see you again.”
Seeing you walk up, he hesitates for a second, but then quickly changes his expression, smiling brilliantly and warmly shaking your hand. “It is good to see you as well. I must apologize, for I regret I don’t recall seeing you before. Have we met?” Proceed to Scenario 10. Scenario 9: After a few seconds of thought, the golden-haired man responds, “Death Lord, if you truly are a brother of mine, then surely you’d have the skills to defeat me in battle! Only strong creatures of darkness would possibly survive long enough to actually call me a companion!” Hearing this, the dark-haired man quickly retreats up the staircase to get away from him, as the golden-haired man casts forth a ball of light in his hand and hurls it at you. You dodge it in time, but the spot on the floor where the ball hit gives you a strong feeling of uneasiness, as if draining you of your strength. Cursing this ironic turn of events, you quickly pull out your guqin, strumming it and casting your Supersonic Soul-Chasing Arrow at him. The man dodges and dispels it with more of his holy aura. “A bard? What kind of Death Lord are you that relies on a harp to cast magic?” “The kind that gets things done!” You quickly strum your Sheng-ge Entrancement Technique, slowing down his speed as you run away. Despite his speed decrease, the golden-haired man is still able to keep up fairly well, sending many balls of light at you. You cast Berserk Melody on yourself, raising your own speed by 150%, barely managing to dodge them in time while continuously sending more Soul Chasing Arrows at him as well. Though the two sides appear to be fairly deadlocked, you can’t help but feel you are approaching your limit. The opponent’s agility and endurance are simply too high, and you’re running out of mana potions. You run for cover into your bedroom, contemplating whether or not you should jump out of the window and climb up towards the roof or use the small quarters to trap him, when Yu Shu enters the room, shouting “Enough!” You see the black-haired man enter, blocking the golden-haired man from getting a good shot at you from behind her. She faces the golden-haired man, furiously scolding, “Hold Keeper, why is it that whenever I bring a companion, your first instinct is to attack him?” “You’re one to talk! Knowing full well that I despise creatures of darkness, why is it that the first two companions you call forth besides me are undeads? I find it difficult to believe this guy is even a Death Lord. His skills are so pitiful.” “Hold your tongue! I’m actually a demon bard,” you say, firing a warning arrow at him. This rouse is really getting out of hand. “Enough is enough!” Yu Shu pushes you back while House Keeper does the same with Hold Keeper. “House Keeper, Hold Keeper; please go back and leave us alone. There is much I need to discuss with Song Keeper.” “Oh, is that what you’re going to name him now? Well after you resolve this issue with Song Keeper, please immediately come back to my world and start creating my actual companions. Don’t forget your promise; I will only forgive you this one time,” Hold Keeper says as the two brothers take their leave, slamming the door behind them. Yu Shu sighs, touching her forehead. “Why are you doing this? Why are you putting so much effort into creating us?” you ask. “For a lie that already knows way too much for your own good, you still have yet to truly grasp the concept of feelings...” She sighs again. “It’s the same reason why people decide to have children. You are my sons. It’s not enough for me to just think about you, I want to see you with my own eyes, to hear you with my own ears, to touch you with my own hands!” She hugs you warmly. How do you respond? A.) Hug her back. B.) Walk away to clear your head. A.) You hug her back, surprised to feel the warmth of her body. That’s right, I’ve already advanced into a lie, you say to yourself.
You feel something wet dripping onto your shoulder, but with Yu Shu still hugging you, you don’t dare release yourself from her grip. Feeling her body start to shake, however, it’s not difficult to surmise the source of the liquid.
You pat her back embracingly, then free up your shoulder to let her cry onto it. You think about the events that led up to this curious situation, vowing in your heart that you’ll make Hold Keeper regret he actually made Yu Shu cry.
After she begins to stop weeping, you say to her, “You said something about a contract, right? Whatever it is, I will agree to it. Thank you for creating me, Mother.”
The End B.) That’s right, I still don’t understand the true concept of feelings, you think, puzzled by Yu Shu’s odd behavior.
You release yourself from her arms, walking towards the door. “Please, I need some time to think,” you say, as you leave the room and close the door behind you.
Not really sure where you want to go, you decide to walk towards the entrance hall. A bright light seems to be shining near the back of the stairwell. Curious, you walk down the stairs and look for its source.
“I knew you’d come look for me,” a voice sounds behind you as you reach the bottom step. You see Hold Keeper watching you, carrying a ball of light in his hand.
“You’re mistaken; I only came out to clear my head.”
“Then come with me; I’ll show you my world.” He grabs your hand, forcing you to go with him into the portal.
Seeing that he won’t take “no” for an answer, you follow him. Proceed to Scenario 11 Scenario 10: You unhesitantly smile in response, saying “I’m certain we have, though I’m afraid my memory seems to be lacking as well, as even this palace is rather unfamiliar to me.” At this point, the dark-haired man suddenly decides to join in on the conversation. “The mistress has stated that you are a Death Lord. Perhaps this palace was your home before the two of you met for knight training?” “Ah, is that right? Then is your appearance and this palace simply a cover-up for your true identity as a Death Lord?” the golden-haired man responds. “I guess you could say that. After all, our mother, who seems to have an addiction to handsome-looking men, couldn’t possibly bare to summon me in my true Death Lord form, right?” You quickly glance at Yu Shu, who disapprovingly glares back at you for that retort. The two brothers emotionlessly laugh. The black-haired brother shakes your hand. “My name is House Keeper, and this is Hold Keeper. You were only just born, so is it safe to assume you don’t know your name yet?” “Actually I know my name, it’s --” “Song Keeper! His name is Song Keeper!” Yu Shu blurted out, interrupting you. The three of you briefly stare at her in surprise. “Well, Song Keeper, it is a great pleasure to meet you. Will you be joining us in the Mistress’s apartment?” House Keeper asks. “No, he will certainly be joining me back in my world, won’t you?” Hold Keeper replies. How do you respond? A.) You will join Hold Keeper in his world. B.) You wish to stay here. A.) “I think I would very much like to join Hold Keeper in his world. He looks like he could use a companion.” The two of you head back towards the portal from which the Keepers came.
“Wait!” Yu Shu attempts to call you back, but you glare at her menacingly, threatening her in case she dares follow you. She freezes in shock, not used to seeing you bear this kind of expression. Proceed to Scenario 10. B.) “No, thank you. I would like to stay here for a bit.”
Yu Shu responds, “He still needs some time to adjust, and I still need to make a contract with him. So you two, please go back; I wish to talk to him alone.”
“Hmph, fine. But don’t forget your promise to me. If this one is a failure, you can at least come back to my world and develop some more of the surroundings!” Hold Keeper responds.
“I will; don’t worry about it.” Proceed to Scenario 11. Scenario 11: Upon arriving at the temple in Hold Keeper's world, you can’t help but stare in wonder at your vast and detailed surroundings, despite feeling a bit uneasy in this world full of light.
“Beautiful,” you say, walking around the hallways and admiring the architecture of the building, with its wide and majestic corridors and ornate, gold-colored designs. Hold Keeper opens a door.
“Here, you can take this room. My room is just down the hall, three rooms down.” You briefly take a look at the room, but without any luggage or electricity, there isn’t much you can do but note the look and feel of the bedroom, before continuing on with your companion on his guided tour of the temple.
Later, Yu Shu stops by, expanding the world a little more, with roads leading outside the Holy Temple towards a small town with a few townspeople engaging in their daily commerce. After engaging in conversation with Hold Keeper, she talks to you about becoming her lie in her own world, to which you reluctantly give your consent.
Though the new worlds are much different from the world you came from, with their more primitive technology and architecture, you can’t help but find that they have charm and their own appeal. You’ve learned to find joy in joining Hold Keeper’s quest for more companions, constantly badgering Yu Shu to uphold her promise while taking on her many requests. And although your new family is rather eccentric and constantly arguing over mundane items, you can’t help but feel that this is truly home.
The End
Scenario 12: The two brothers return back to the portal, with House Keeper courteously bowing before leaving. After watching them exit, Yu Shu faces you, saying, “Well? Now that you’ve met your brothers, what would you say to becoming my lie and answering to my summons?
“I don’t know; they are rather eccentric. I can’t help but feel that there is going to be a lot of trouble if I were to associate with you all.”
“Well, that is exactly what you are looking for in life! For someone so intelligent like you, it is a constant battle looking for stimulating challenges that would appeal to you. With these kinds of companions, there will never be a dull moment in your life. And it sure would be much better than sticking around here with only a bed and guqin to keep you company.”
You contemplate over the things Yu Shu has said, finding it difficult to argue against her points. Though reluctant you are at being subservient to another person, you can’t help but feel the benefits far outweigh the negatives. With that, you agree to becoming her lie.
As you head over to the portal with her, you take one last look at the Infinite Palace. Finally at peace and not having any regrets, you turn around, following Yu Shu into her world.
