Then, headstrong person she is, she would likely refuse to tell anyone about it, and continue living as she always did. Only when the illness weakens her enough that she can't move around as freely as she once could, would she resign herself to becoming less active. She likely would still be able to keep her job, since Ah Ye likes her so much, and would still be very useful in monitoring situations through the city's security cameras. It's just that in a fight, she might not be as quick on her feet as she once was. Her mind should still be equally sharp, so she's a valuable source of information and link to Sunset City's non-human community. (Charles, the shut-in he is, probably has a more limited circle of non-human connections.)
(It almost sounds like I'm describing what happens to people as they age...)
If Charles came home from shopping at the marketplace, and saw Dell lying unconscious against the broken front door...
(By the way, Ah Ye typically comes back from class half an hour after Charles comes back from shopping, so Charles will be alone.)

Then Charles would likely first call the young master before taking Dell somewhere safe to treat his injuries...and then maybe call Yue Gang.
If heroes used magic instead of high-tech weapons...

he would suspect it was actually a mortal kombat gun or the like, so he would only clean around it and make a mental note reminding himself to read more about guns and ask the young master about it later.
If the Sun Emperor suddenly became a vampire girl...

If Ah Ye de-aged to the age before he was modified and only has memories up to that point...

...then the Sun Emperor would allow it be, letting him grow up the way he wanted Daren to grow up, a sweet and loving boy with hopes and dreams of helping the world. Dark Sun would continue to rescue and Charles would diligently morph from a butler to a babysitter eventually becoming seemingly a member of the family who indulged Daren plenty. Melody would be indulgent as ever... and taking slight advantage to seem motherly to Daren...
If religion was a big part of Daren's life...

Then Ah Ye would likely relinquish control of the Sun Alliance to Kyle. Just in case an unfortunately circumstance like this happened, there likely would have been a provision on Ri Xiang Yan's will to keep Ri Xiang Ye's financial situation set for as long as he needed.
As for how Ah Ye would react to the loss of his brother... I'd rather not imagine.
If Charles put Ah Ye's Dark Sun shirt in the wash with his dress shirts and the dress shirts all turned pink...

...then Charles would apologize many a time to Young Master Ah Ye, and to the mother of the child for burdening them so, and feel extreme confusion. He'd take care of his child the way his parents took care of him, with care and love, teaching him the ways of a butler and letting him be himself, giving him choices. Melody would coo over such an adorable child, and I'd think that Ah Ye would move to a larger apartment, saying that Charles should be able to look after his child in a comfortable space! Briar would adore the little child, and her father, May and Dell would likely make some inappropriate comment that would have Briar and or Melody smack their heads upside down. I'd think the child would have an extremely fun childhood, looked after by Charles' mother before being heard of and aforementioned actions would occur.
If Ah Ye wanted to be a Youtuber...

...then his fame would spread across the entire world at a speed that would make light seem like a tortoise in comparison, and eventually result in Youtube being closed down due to "mysterious reasons".
If Charles held a weekly cooking demonstration show on the cooking channel...

...then Charles would have to cook twice as much food as he would usually need, and therefore he would need to go to the supermarket twice everyday and haggle with the store-owners for discounts, then possibly beg the young master to go shopping with him to get even more discounts. (Yue Gang would probably also find out the truth about Charles' "family")
If Charles received a discount coupon for KFC...
